Science Past, Science Future
I’m a contributing writer for Popular Science and formerly MIT Technology Review, where I write about science and technology innovations that shaped our world—and the ones we let slip away. My monthly column traces how breakthroughs in medicine, engineering, and technology echoed, or failed to echo, across the past century. When I’m not mining archives, I write fiction. My Glide Trilogy explores the long-term consequences of invention, and my Cap City Mysteries imagine all the ways teens could set us straight. I also teach graduate science writing at Johns Hopkins University. While you’re here, check out my trivia challenges, cartoons, sneak previews, and gallery of futuristic inventions.
