Cap City Mysteries

Cap City Mysteries is a series of four standalone YA thrillers set in Washington, DC. Each book follows a different teenage protagonist who has been pushed to the margins of the city—by poverty, by immigration status, by the foster care system, by grief—and who survives by finding an unlikely home inside one of Washington’s most iconic institutions. Each protagonist exposes a different face of institutional corruption. Each arrives, by the end of their story, at Cap City School of Arts and Sciences—a unique, private institution in Northwest DC—without knowing that the others are already there.

The books can be read in any order. They are united by setting, by theme, and by the conviction that the most honest view of Washington’s institutions belongs to the people those institutions were built to serve and have consistently failed to see.
