Muse's summer issue spotlights the ocean, covering the past, present, and future of a mysterious, miraculous, often alien world that's right here on planet Earth. Even in 2023, we have higher resolution and more comprehensive surface images of the Moon and Mars than of Earth's own surface, 70 percent of which lies beneath a watery veil.
My story, "Unveiling the Secrets of the Seafloor," describes an international initiative, Seabed 2030, to map all of the ocean floor by 2030, using multi-beam sonar.
